Taunton May 10th - 11th 2026
Myself & Neil left Sittingbourne at 04:15 and it was the best trip down…..ever.
Trip took 3 hours and 10 minutes at legal speed limits.
I did it in 3 hours in 2012 when I left Sittingbourne at midday and got to the Travelodge on Hankridge Farm at 15:00 and I had a lead foot that day but today was sticking to all speed limits.
Myself and Neil grabbed a McDonalds breakfast on the way to the crematorium and when we got there we got everything off of the bench and started sanding it down.
We took it down as far as we could but some dark bits remained but after two coats of varnish it looks very rustic.
We popped to our hotel to check in and have a bite to eat before going back to give the bench a third coat of varnish before going back to the hotel to rest for the night.
On the morning of the 11th We got ready and headed off to the Crematorium to get ready for the flowers to be delivered by ..Bloomin' Lovely, our new florist. We took loads of pictures (By that i mean 'Snappy Neil' took over 900 pictures), We tidied the grave up and planted new plants at the foot. We met two lovely people who had met and worked with George & Patrick and we had a good chat with them. Then we headed of with Mo to The Hankridge Arms pub for a nice meal before heading off home.Thank you to everyone that donated to this years flowers, without you none of this could be done.
